SARDINIA: The Hunters of 24 Municipalities in the Villacidrese hinterland are on the alert for a new provision ..In Sardinia a provision has been launched with which the hunters of twenty-four countries should all converge within the same territory, the territory of Villacidro. The hunters speak of a real discrimination that would not have as its aim the regularization of the hunt but only its binding in a delimited place. Hunters feel imprisoned and sidelined by a political reality that sees them only as an uncomfortable part of the community.
Both the majority and the opposition are in fact in favor of this measure. This is because it seems that political candidates lose as much as 40% of the votes if they declare themselves hunters or even simply in favor of hunting. The hunting community rebels against all this.
Their spokesperson, the fighter chief Antonio Piras, has publicly stated that if hunting is a political problem then the hunting community intends not to vote or rather not to appear at the polls. There's no point in voting for someone who doesn't respect you. Piras has also started a real collection of signatures to contest this provision which already sees the presence of about 2000 signatures.
