A troubled hunting calendar
Compared to 23/24 hunting calendar of the Marche approved last June by the Regional Council, the TAR introduced limitations (now known) with an ordinance published last September 22nd. Following the incident and on the same date, the Councilor with responsibility for hunting Andrea Maria Antonini called an urgent meeting with the office, inviting all the hunting associations. Federcaccia Marche missed this important meeting. Arcicaccia Marche and Liberacaccia Marche, however present, jointly asked the Region to consult ISPRA again to request an opinion on the second additional day of surveillance in the months of October and November.
ISPRA's findings
ISPRA, from an analysis of the updated sampling data provided by the Marche Region, decided to communicate, just 3 days after the request, its positive opinion on the second additional day of surveillance in the months of October and November. In light of the positive feedback from ISPRA, Councilor Antonini has once again called an urgent meeting to discuss what to do with the main players. It was decided to proceed with a new resolution to adapt the calendar with both two additional days of stalking, as per the new opinion of ISPRA. On this occasion, Federcaccia Marche, present this time, asked the Region to appeal as soon as possible to the Council of State against the TAR order. Arcicaccia Marche is strongly against this umpteenth senseless claim by FIDC Marche. This is because the Council of State has a known adverse position on issues regarding hunting calendars. And a possible ruling from the Council of State could reduce the collection in January even further for some species compared to what has already been established by the Marche TAR.
Arci Caccia and Federcaccia
We believe that Marche hunters do not need further uncertainty. If Federcaccia Marche deems it necessary to appeal to the Council of State against the recent order of the TAR, Marche should have appeared before the TAR to defend the calendar. However, he didn't do it... therefore, he cannot appeal independently. And all this and the audio that has circulated on the issue lead us to think that FIDC Marche's plan on the issue of the regional hunting calendar is something different from the defense of the rights of Marche hunters. The Regional Council has decided to meet in an extraordinary manner on Saturday to re-establish the second additional day of hunting in October-November. A fundamental resolution that defends Marche hunters in one of the most important aspects of regional hunting practice and tradition. And for this demonstration of political and administrative efficiency, we at Arcicaccia Marche want to thank President Acquaroli and Councilor Antonini (Gabriele Sperandio – President ARCI Caccia Marche).
