Hunting: Trento, the hunting of deer and roe deer opens; 6702 permits issued but the number of female hunters decreases.
There are 6702 permits issued to Trentino hunters who have requested them, in view of the partial opening of the hunting season next Sunday. Partial because the first step was on 1 May with the start of the selection hunt, the second on 15 August with that of chamois and mouflon, while the final one with the start of hunting open to all game, will be at third Sunday of September. Compared to last year, the number of "female hunters" has decreased: from 24 to 17; as well as permits for hunting abroad: from 46 to 28. On the other hand, permits for carrying guns for hunting use are increasing: from 1012 to 1038, with 35 under 20 and 150 over 70. The hunt for roe deer and red deer will be open on Sunday, but with the first monitored over two weeks, because in 2013 the reproductive index was one of the lowest in recent years. Thanks to the climatic situation, with the last snowfall in May and characterized by intense cold just in coincidence with the birth period. These are part of the statistical data illustrated in the context of the press conference that was held yesterday morning at the Police Headquarters, to present the hunting season that will begin in September. The president of the Hunters Association, Giampaolo Sassudelli, underlined with satisfaction, how the 2012 season ended without hunting accidents and how injuries are often caused by imprudence in dealing with the roughness of the territory, rather than the use of weapons.
Also positive is the fact that the times for renewing and issuing the firearms license have been reduced to the bare minimum. And precisely in order to facilitate the activity of hunters as much as possible, the administrative director of the Police Headquarters, dr. Auriemma, confirmed that the reference office will also remain open on Saturday morning, to resolve possible emergencies. As for the animals killed last season, there were 4760 roe deer; 1805 deer since it constitutes the absolute primacy and 2930 chamois. While per season in the opening phase there will be 6834 roe deer that can be killed, of which 2733 males; 2306 deer and 3457 chamois. 120 wild boars already killed.
As for the firearms license requests, 6 were rejected with a single rejection due to hunting offenses; 8 suspensions of which 5 due to hunting and / or poaching offenses. 9 revocations. As mentioned in the 2012-'13 hunting season there was no hunting accident, while the last death dates back to three years ago. "The rejected requests were mostly due to the lack of requirements, rather than sanctions - said the commissioner Giorgio Iacobone - and among these the highest percentage is attributable more to cases of drunkenness, rather than to the use of drugs. ".
