The importance of hunters
The sixth public territorial assembly, open to all hunters, organised by the Margherita Hack hall in Greve in Chianti in the province of Florence, took place. Federcaccia-Uct Provincial of Florence, followed by those of Empoli, Certaldo, Borgo San Lorenzo and Reggello. In the presence of over 120 hunters, after the greetings of the Municipal President Pompei, the Provincial President Simone Tofani left the floor to the Mayor of Greve in Chianti Paolo Sottani, and to the hunting councilor Paolo Tepsich for a brief greeting in which the importance of hunters in the management of the territory was underlined.
Regional hunting calendar
Subsequently, the Regional President of Federcaccia Toscana-UCT Marco Salvadori addressed – in his speech – the issues concerning the regional hunting calendar, with particular attention to the changes introduced compared to previous years, with particular reference to those concerning the hunting of wild boar by stalking and the selective hunting of the same, highlighting the numerous problems that have emerged. He also addressed the problem of PSA, always closely linked to the previous topic, concluding with references to small sedentary game, and the numerous opportunities linked to the approval of the next Regional Hunting Fauna Plan.
Interventions and questions
After the speech by Giovanni Doddoli, author of the book Volpe e cacciatori, President Tofani gave a “voice” to those present. There were numerous speeches and questions, to which the speakers promptly responded, giving rise to a lively and participatory debate. The evening finally concluded with Tofani's reflections and ideas for intervention on the crisis of small sedentary game, and with the wish for a big good luck for the next hunting season (source: FIDC-UCT Toscana).
