Il Regional Administrative Court of Umbria has decided to accept the appeal presented by the WWF regarding the hunting in pre-opening of hunting season 2018-2019. The judges have in fact suspended the two scheduled days, that of 2 and 9 September, a decision that is difficult to digest. The Regional Council approved the text last June and this choice calls into question various certainties.
The executive decisions that had authorized the abatement plans as far as selection hunting is concerned. Just tomorrow, Friday 27 July 2018, there will be a meeting in Perugia that will involve the Hunting Faunal Council and in which the topic will be deepened. WWF commented on the ruling, underlining what it is like a warning for the administrators of the other Italian regions.
The same environmental association had made discussions last January when there was a complaint about 60 hunters who were preying wild boars. These people were treated like poachers when WWF applied a sentence of the Constitutional Court relating to Liguria: the hunters were authorized and certainly not surprised in a day of hunting silence. The month of September is near and the reasons for the hunt will have to be put into effect quickly in order to try to guarantee the hunt again pre-opening.
