The national president Gian Luca Dall'Olio was a guest of the popular Radio 24 broadcast "Melog, meridian chronicles" conducted by Gianluca Nicoletti, broadcast today 23 September and dedicated to the theme of the accidents of hunting.
In addition to the public, Daniela Casprini, president of the Hunting Victims Association, confronts him. Casprini, in addition to providing the association's data on accidents that occurred in the first days of hunting, also complained about the lack of adequacy of law 157/92 regarding areas open to hunting and safety distances.
After having refuted the biggest "mistake" in the numbers provided, that is to insert the death in the province of Frosinone among the victims, in reality not a hunting accident but - no less painful - tragic conclusion of an illegal act of poaching, which with this has nothing to do, the president Dall'Olio stressed the importance of respecting the rules aimed at pursuing the maximum humanly achievable safety by all, recalling, however, how evidently the failure to comply with the same causes in other activities carried out at fatal accidents more numerous than those attributed to hunting activities, even those apparently harmless such as mushroom picking, which caused as many as 33 deaths in 2014. And to this we must unfortunately add victims of sports such as mountaineering, skiing , swimming and even those of accidents that occur in the context of domestic activities.
So hunting involves risks but no more than other human activities. Particular attention, on this he agreed with some listeners who attended, should be paid to the handling of weapons, remembering however that correct behavior is in any case subject to verification during the hunting qualification examination. An aspect on which it is always appropriate to insist.
An applause should be addressed to the conductor Gianluca Nicoletti, who is not the first time that he has dealt with hunting in his transmission, always doing it in a balanced, secular and professionally correct way, demonstrating that the theme of hunting can be treated without making ideologies prevail. biased or indulge in unnecessary pietism in search of the public's favor. An example that we hope more and more of your colleagues will begin to follow.
