Hunting: the Province of Lecco makes some clarifications on the question of live calls for hunting use.
The regulation of live calls for hunting, that is, those birds captured by hunters and then used to attract game, has generated contradictory understandings. The hunting department of the Province of Lecco wants to clarify this, explaining that the Lombardy Region has reiterated the need to establish a database on live calls.
Previously the Provincial Authority had sent a letter to all hunters, with the form for listing the identification data of the ring attached; these data must be delivered by May 31, 2103. Any precise instructions could arrive after the new Regional Councilor takes office, also in light of some inconsistencies found and reported by the Provinces and the hunting associations.
"In addressing my best wishes to the new regional councilor Gianni Fava - comments the councilor with responsibility for hunting, Carlo Signorelli - I hope your personal interest, considering that the problem of live calls is a priority to be addressed with the utmost urgency, to evaluate the concrete possibility of applying the envisaged rules and any changes, in order to provide uniform procedures for all the Provinces and to clarify a complex and controversial issue as a whole ".
