HUNTING IN LOMBARDY | “What happened today with the suspension of hunting in Lombardy is an absurd, wicked decision and not scientifically supported which will only further and exclusively damage the agricultural world, the hunting world and above all the thousands of families who live and work in this world.
Hunting, together with shooting and in general with the world of weapons and ammunition, represents a fundamental voice in the Italian economic system. For all these workers, a new lockdown starts which for many of them will inevitably mean the end and closure for their companies. Years of work, experience and excellence that risk being swept away by a vulgar animalism full of contradictions. The closure of the hunting activity is not only the closure of the hunting but it is an incalculable economic damage in a sector that represents 2% of national GDP and which has seen almost two years of stoppage like all other activities.
I can only express all my concern and opposition to the closure of the hunting activity and I invite the President of the TAR to reflect on his position. Because what will happen from tomorrow will have repercussions on thousands of families who live and guarantee their children a roof and a dignified life.
From the 120 gun companies of Val Trompia, to its related industries, to ammunition producers, to clothing and footwear manufacturers, binoculars, hunting cars, wildlife hunting companies, reserves, armories, hunting houses with their restaurants and bars, to companies for restocking and then the hunters who have already paid all the quotas and who have been made fun of by some "error of assessment".
I believe that the time has come to make our voices heard and to show our disagreement on certain incomprehensible decisions. I believe that the hunting world, and falling the agricultural world, must demand that those who cover certain institutional roles are up to the level of the matter on which they legislate because we can no longer suffer the environmentalist stress and see the resolution of all problems in the "hunting block".
This was declared by Barbara Mazzali, regional councilor of the Brothers of Italy
