Excellent news from the ANUU regarding the migratory pass, especially of the Thrushes, which thanks to the favorable weather conditions of the last few days should be excellent for this season.
When we will have the opportunity to remember this remarkable post-nuptial migration, or autumnal if you prefer, we must not forget the exceptional weather conditions, which have undoubtedly contributed to facilitating the fantastic long journey of our winged friends towards the wintering shores of the Mediterranean and of Africa.
Indeed, until the morning of Friday 14 October, the temperature was at daytime levels and with minimums not below 17 ° / 18 °, as well as with a predominance of high pressure that formed a large corridor from Hungary, entering Austria to reach the Julian Alps and, therefore, towards the Po Valley crossing the Maritime Alps to touch the South of France and reach Spain with optimal weather conditions.
In Italy the Adriatic coast was, however, especially in recent days, touched by a disturbance that almost created a "buffer" for migration from Greece and the former Yugoslavia.
In short, an optimal migration that touched the "top" on Friday 14 October, particularly favoring the Franciacorta area of Brescia and, in general, of the medium hills of the Bergamo area up to the Como and Varese areas, allowing the Ornithological Stations for scientific ringing of Camignone (Brescia) and Arosio (Como) a profitable and remarkable ringing of the Song Thrush, of the Pettirosso and, again of the Blackcap, considered "target" species in this exceptional period during their continuous and constant study activity, as is also carried out by other ringing points.
But not only of these species we must speak: also of the beginning of the migration of Finch, of the first Lucarini, of the Merlo, of the Pispola, of the Fanello with the signs, marked with the dropper of Frosone, Redwing, Sparrow and Lark.
In short, a migration to remember with the moon phase at the peak of the full moon of 12 October and with more than pleasant temperatures for this period. And so it is reported to us for the thrush in strong migratory movement in Greece on 13 October and in France on Saturday 15 and Sunday 16 with the first signs in the area of Valencia, Spain.
If the weather continues without rain, letting it run towards the nesting shores migration, we will be able to remember it in a more than good and favorable way for that judicious levy that makes hunting a sustainable way for the environment, its biodiversity and in compliance with the rules that the vast majority, almost absolute of responsible hunters, consider the qualifying element of their hunting exercise.
