With the new year the activities of the Perugia 2 hunting area resume. Everything is ready, on the entire territory managed by the ATC, for the winter restocking of the Hare species, which will take place starting from January 5 using both animals of catch that hares bought at local farms. As already communicated to the head of the planning and wildlife management service of the Province of Perugia and to all the provincial hunting associations, the distribution of wild animals to be placed in the territory has been scheduled and programmed.
It begins on Sunday 5 January with the two most populous municipalities of the ATC, namely Foligno and Spoleto. At 8 am, in the square of the Province in Paciana, all interested parties will be able to participate in the delivery and release operations of 118 hares. An hour later, in Piazza d'Armi in Spoleto, local enthusiasts will receive 94 hares to free.
For many other municipalities the appointment is for the two following Sundays, 12 (Spello, Nocera, Sant'Anatolia, Schegigno, Norcia, Cascia, Sellano) and 19 January (Cannara, Bettona, Fratta Todina, Massa Martana, Montefalco, Valtopina, Janus). 346 animals will be delivered on these two dates. All the other territories will be able to obtain supplies from local farms, already identified by the ATC, with a total of 262 hares divided for each municipality concerned.
To these numbers are added, then, the 360 hares to be captured in the various repopulation and capture areas present on the ATC territory, which brings the total figure of winter restocking for the hare species to 1180 animals released on the whole.
