Hunting in Pescara: the Province of Pescara has postponed the approval of the new regulation for the management of ungulates such as wild boar, deer and roe deer.
The VI Council Commission for Hunting and Fishing of the Province of Pescara in the meeting held today postponed the definitive approval of the new provincial regulation for the management of ungulates to be examined by the Provincial Council.
The President of the VI Council Commission for Hunting and Fishing of the Province of Pescara, Roberto Pasquali, promoter of the document, explained "We believe it is essential to explain this regulation in detail to hunters and farmers with the support of the hunting service of the Province of Pescara, in the most total participation and transparency of choices ".
Continuing, President Pasquali specified, "The next step will be to bring this regulation to the approval of the Council, and I hope to do it quickly with the help of everyone, and with the intention of making it executive starting from the next hunting season" .
Regarding the outcome of today's session, Pasquali then explained, “The postponement will give us the opportunity to listen to and accept the improvement proposals that will come from the hunting and agricultural world. It is not possible to accept, uncritically, the Regional guidelines contained in the Council Resolution No. 605 of 1 September 2011, published in the BURA on 26 September 2012. The reasons refer, in particular: to the management of damage caused by wild boars, which every year they reach exorbitant figures; the sharing of the territory suited to the presence of wild boar with other forms of hunting, in particular migrators who represent, among other things, the vast majority of the provincial hunting world ".
Finally, President Pasquali stressed that "Providing the province of Pescara with a regulation for hunting ungulates is certainly a priority, but we want to reach this goal in the awareness of having respected the rules and institutional steps that the law imposes on us".
Concluding Pasquali addressed an appeal to hunters “to make themselves protagonists of choices and changes, thus reversing the consolidated habit of undergoing the choices of a few”.
