Hunting: Piacenza, after the protest of the hunters and the "threat" of not renewing the hunting licenses, the Province has set up a meeting with the representatives of the Hunters Committee.
The problems of hunters in the exercise of hunting will be at the center of a meeting between the Hunters Committee of Piacenza (Cobas Caccia) and the Province scheduled for Wednesday. The meeting, at the invitation of the Via Garibaldi body, comes after the same committee has repeatedly made its voice heard in recent weeks, with over a thousand hunters ready not to renew their license. "We confirm this desire given that so far we have not been heard - explains the chairman of the committee Giovanni Bertaglia, who in any case judges positively the convening of the meeting:" We hope to resume that dialogue started at the time with the then councilor Filippo Pozzi and then interrupted after his resignation (following his appointment as political advisor for the Efd group of the European Parliament in Brussels ed) ". Several topics were contested by Piacenza hunters, starting with the battle for the reorganization of the territorial hunting areas (the Atc): "In our province - Bertaglia recalls - 17 Atc had been established, then reduced to 11, which involve very high costs ". The proposed reorganization of the hunters envisages four territorial areas, “on the basis of the subdivision of our valleys, which would allow to reduce the economic outlays”.
And it is precisely taxes and costs that are considered excessive, which "add to the already high expenses we have to bear", together with "too many restrictions and the confusion of hunting calendars", are leading more and more people, including many young people, to give up the activity : "Now - is the conclusion of the president of the committee - hunting is becoming impossible".
“They consider us environmental destroyers - he continues calling into question the environmental associations - but in reality we feel we are collaborators and sentinels of the community and the environment and we are among the first to report problems and criticalities. Are you opposed to wildlife culling plans? Well, but then someone takes responsibility for the damage and the consequences ".
