Hunting prohibited in Turin. The Turin City Council approved the ban on hunting throughout the Turin area. The promoters Viale and Bertola: “It's a question of civilization and ethics”.
With 23 votes in favor and one abstention, yesterday the City Council definitively banned the exercise of hunting from the Turin area. The approved motion, which was presented by Silvio Viale (PD) and Vittorio Bertola (M5S), makes explicit an already existing de facto situation. In fact, even in areas theoretically open to hunting, such as the territory on the borders of Borgaro Torinese or some corners of the hills, there are no safety distances from homes prescribed by law, as the Councilor for the Environment, Enzo Lavolta, pointed out. With yesterday's vote which, as the promoters wanted to underline, has an ethical and civilized significance in the first place, no hunting activity will be possible in any case within the boundaries of our city.
