Hunting: Ravenna, selection for the control of the Fallow Deer of the Pineta, the TAR rejected the appeal of the animal rights activists, ordering them to pay expenses for four thousand euros.
After the brawl of recent days regarding the hunting of selection to the Fallow deer to control the surplus population of ungulates in the Pineta di Classe, the animal rights activists had filed an appeal with the TAR asking for the cancellation of the provision of the Province of Ravenna.
In recent days, the judges of the Bologna TAR have assessed the procedure adopted by the Provincial Administration as correct, not considering the alternatives proposed by animal rights activists adequate, including that of resorting to the help of private individuals who may have made themselves available to capture and welcome animals at their expense. In addition, the administrative court sentenced the petitioner animal welfare associations to pay four thousand euros in expenses to the same Province and to the Agricultural Cooperative Braccianti of Cervia, owner of most of the land continuously subject to damage by deer.
Despite the vandalism in recent days against the hunting rooftops specially mounted by the selecontrollers, the selective collection of the fallow deer can therefore continue.
