The councilor of the environment Giorgio Oppi suspended the decree of last July concerning the 2011/2012 hunting calendar.
The hunting activity in Sardinia for the month of January 2012 is allowed according to the provisions contained in the new decree approved by the Councilor on Friday 23 December and which will come into force today 30.12.2011.
Below we publish a summary of the content of the decree:
Holders of weapon ports for hunting purposes who intend to pursue hunting activities in the regional territory they must prove at all times that they are in possession of the regional authorization for hunting in Sardinia.
The exercise of hunting is allowed with the use of the rifle:
a) with smooth-bore barrel up to two shots, repeating and semi-automatic, with shot in the barrel and magazine that allows to contain no more than two cartridges of caliber not exceeding 12;
b) with single manual or semi-automatic repeating rifled-bore barrel of caliber not less than mm. 5,6 with empty case no less than mm. 40, if the caliber is greater than mm. 5,6 the case can be less than mm. 40;
c) with two or three rods (combined), of which one or two with smooth bore of caliber not exceeding twelve and one or two with grooved core of caliber not less than mm. 5,6 with empty case no less than mm. 40, if the caliber is greater than mm. 5,6 the case can be less than mm. 40.
d) The use of the rifle with a rifled bore barrel is only allowed for wild boar and fox hunting with the hunt system.
Non-resident hunters in Sardinia who intend to hunt with dogs in tow they must be able to prove that the same dogs are registered in the canine registry of their region of residence and are in compliance with the health regulations in force.
The hunter must indelibly mark on the hunting book contained in the regional authorization, before starting the hunting exercise, the date of the hunting day and the freshly incarnated culled game.
The export of wild boar from the territory of Sardinia is prohibited. Hunters and beaters must use the high visibility vest when hunting organized with the hunt system.
