Hunting: Siena, the Hunting Associations on the protection of biodiversity, selective withdrawals and the containment of supernumerary species.
"The media fuss and the controversies raised around the fox control plan have led the Province of Siena to decide on a one-month moratorium". "The Italian hunting world looks very carefully at what is happening in Siena and at the initiative of the Province and Councilor Annamaria Betti to set up a consultation table with all interested parties aimed at the complete implementation, in a short time, of the interventions of containment of surplus species, including foxes, to ensure the enhancement of the biodiversity of territories, such as those of Siena, at the forefront also thanks to the positive wildlife hunting management carried out with the decisive commitment and money of hunters and farmers. A meritorious commitment to the wildlife enrichment of the landscape that has also been obtained with the management of the ZRC, as recognized by the citizens, by the tourists who are fascinated by this territory, by the OECD ". Thus a joint intervention by ANLC - ANUU Migratoristi - ENALCACCIA - FIdC - ARCI CACCIA.
"An" excellence "- fortunately one of the many in Italy - the hunting associations continue, which in order to be achieved and maintained requires a 360-degree vision of environmental problems, including the implications of the damage that supernumerary wild animals bring and that they fall on the whole of society and for many agricultural enterprises it is becoming unsustainable. Damage that we do not think the animal rights acronyms face with their 5 × 1000. The initiative for the agreement with those who will come to the discussion table must be resumed as soon as possible. The hunting world has never shied away from confrontation when it was serious and not prejudiced against spoiled, and this time too it will be no exception, refusing immediately, however, to confront Taliban and fundamentalist positions that lead nowhere.
The theme of the Table must be clear: it discusses wildlife control activities in the primary interest of the presence of all wild species, of Tuscan agriculture, of public health, which from the proliferation of certain species - precisely the fox, for example - risks of being endangered. A step that we hope will be a prerequisite for relaunching dialogue and confrontation in all regions without conspiracy and ideological prejudices. Proceed quickly to set up the Table then; to make the containment of redundant species, in particular ungulates, more effective; the control plans for the fox are perfected, as indicated by ISPRA, also acquiring the resources that the environmental associations will want to make available and making the most of the availability of ENPA and its Guards, already trained in the use of weapons .
Then, at the end of the moratorium and after the resumption of control operations, the establishment of a Committee for the enhancement of the “Common Good Fauna”, a wealth of the Sienese and of the international community, is immediately followed. The country no longer needs damage, chatter or “witch hunts”, but savings and investments for the environment, for a more lively and experienced campaign. We hope that we will no longer have to witness events like this, so exploited that the Sienese Legambiente itself, while seeking a mediation between the different positions, had forcefully distanced itself from those who try to disregard or boycott the current legislation with the sole purpose of obtaining the abolition of hunting in a profoundly incorrect way.
The control of foxes in den with dogs is in fact a due and correct act for the provincial administration. Due, because unlike what most people think who have superficial contacts with nature, often mediated by strongly biased information, the biodiversity that many fill their mouths does not defend itself, leaving it to chance. Correct, so much so that animal rights activists have always lost the appeals presented, because it is validated by an Ispra protocol, the Higher Institute for Scientific Research, certainly not known for its pro-hunting opinions, which curiously, however, are good for some and are equivalent to dogmas only when they serve to support, perhaps a little spuriously, the needs and purposes of a party or of the moment.
Unfortunately, all this - commitment, seriousness, respect for laws and science - is now taking a back seat, overwhelmed by a drift towards a degenerate animalism, without any foundation other than the emotional one. And this is only bad for animals. But the animal rights activists, like all fundamentalists convinced that they are the only custodians of the truth, cannot understand it ”.
