Hunting: Siena, the provincial hunting calendar valid for the 2014-2015 hunting season has been approved by the provincial government; opens on Sunday 21 September.
The Provincial Government of Siena has approved the rules on the 2014/2015 Hunting Calendar. The general layout remains substantially unchanged compared to the last hunting season. The opening of the hunting season is scheduled for 21 September; pre-opening and hunting in derogation await the response of the Regional Administration. Here is what the 2014-2015 hunting calendar foresees for the province of Siena:
Hunting for the species is allowed from 21 September to 8 December 2014 common hare;
From 21 September to 30 October 2014 hunting of fighting species is allowed with a seasonal game bag limit of 10 animals per hunter;
From 1 October to 31 December 2014 hunting is allowed for the lark species, with a seasonal game bag limit of 100 head per hunter;
From 1 October 2014 to 19 January 2015 hunting is allowed for the woodcock species with a seasonal game bag limit of 20 head per hunter;
From 1 October 2014 to 31 January 2015, hunting is allowed for the following species: cesena and redwing;
From 1 November 2014 to 31 January 2015 hunting is allowed for the moretta species with a seasonal game bag limit of 20 head per hunter;
From 21 September 2014 to 31 January 2015 the following species are allowed to hunt: song thrush, teal, snipe, gadwall, pintail, wood pigeon, hooded crow, wigeon, coot, whisk, moorhen, magpie, mallard, jay, garganey, shoveler, pochard, lapwing, water rail. For codon and lapwing the seasonal game bag limit is 25 animals per species and per hunter.
From 21 September 2014 to 31 December 2014 hunting is allowed for the following species: wild rabbit, quail, blackbird, turtledove. For quail and turtledove, the seasonal game bag limit is 25 animals per species and per hunter.
Pheasant hunting in the territory on scheduled hunting is allowed from 21st September 2014 to 31st December 2014; in the AFVs and AAVs it is allowed until January 31, 2015 according to the specific withdrawal plans;
The hunting of the RED PARTRIDGE and the STARNA is forbidden on the whole provincial territory in programmed hunting and in the AFV.
Stray hunting and use of the dog. In the period from 1 to 31 January 2015, hunting is allowed throughout the provincial territory exclusively from a fixed or temporary position, which must be accessed with the unloaded, disassembled or custody shotgun. In the same period, roaming hunting with the use of the dog is allowed, only at the FOX, according to the specifications below. In the period from 1 to 19 January 2015, wandering hunting of the WOODCOCK is allowed, with the use of the dog only pointing and hunting, within the wooded areas (as defined by art.3 of LR 39/2000) falling within the area suitable for wild boar with the exclusion of areas falling within the SPAs. For safety purposes, those who hunt woodcock will need to wear high visibility clothing during this period.
During the periods in which hunting from stalking is allowed, for the purpose of retrieving the game, the use of dogs with particular aptitudes for retrieving is allowed, under the direct control of the owner or handler, within a radius of 150 meters from the stalking. same, but with the obligation to always remain at a distance of not less than 50 meters from other stalks from which the hunting activity is simultaneously exercised.
FOX hunting in the territory on scheduled hunting is allowed from 21 September 2014 to 31 December 2014 even with the use of a follow-up dog. In the period from 1 to 31 January 2015 throughout the provincial territory, hunting for the FOX is allowed only in the traditional hunt form with the use of the dog, with a minimum of 8 participants, subject to communication to the Province of the constitution. of the team and the designation of the person in charge of the same and in compliance with the indications issued for this purpose by the ATCs. In AFV, fox hunting is allowed from 21 September 2014 to 31 January 2015.
Hunting at the boar. The decisions taken for the last hunting season remain substantially unchanged. As regards the designated area, the collection is allowed exclusively in the form of the hunt for the teams assigned to the management districts from 1 November 2014 to 31 January 2015. In the non-designated area, the collection of wild boar is allowed in single form, even with the use of the dog, from 1 October 2014 to 30 November 2014. In the same period - from 1 October 2014 to 30 November 2014 - and from 1 January 2015 to 31 January 2015, collective hunting activities are also allowed in the non-suitable area, which will be governed by the ATC. It should also be remembered that in non-suitable areas, selection hunting for wild boar is active, for all age and sex classes, until 31 January 2015. in agricultural areas falling within the suitable area, it ends on 31 October 2014.
Selection hunting. It should be remembered that for the roe deer the young can be hunted from 1 January to 15 March 2015, the young and adult males from 15 June to 14 July and from 16 August to 29 September; young and adult females can be hunted from January 1st to March 15th 2015. As for the fallow deer, hunting is open from January 1st to March 15th for females and chicks; from 1st to 29th September and from 1st November to 15th March for the fusone; from November 1st to March 15th for the balestrone and palancone. Deer hunting is open from 1 October to 15 February for the M3 and M4 male, from 1 October to 15 March for the M2 male, from 2 August to 31 August and from 1 October to 15 March for the spindle male; from 1 January to 15 March 2015 for all females and children.
The Province of Siena has requested the Tuscany Region to apply the derogation for the hunting of the starling and the pigeon, to limit the damage to agricultural crops caused by this species. It will also ask for the pre-opening to the species: TAUPE, COLOMBACCIO, MERLO, GAZZA, GLANDAIA, GRAY CORNACCHIA, PIGEON and REVERSE. We remind you that, if the Tuscany Region authorizes the pre-opening, the hunt for the species in question must end one day earlier than the indicated times.
Please note that the use of lead shot ammunition is prohibited in all wetlands of the region, such as natural and artificial lakes, ponds, swamps, permanent aquifers, oxbow lakes and lagoons under the provisions of the Tuscany Region. fresh, salt and brackish water.
