Suspended hunting in Veneto
Il TAR of Veneto, with the ordinance n. 798/2022, ordered the suspension of the Hunting calendar in the part in which the hunt will open before 1 October 2022 for some species (Woodcock, Mallard, Coot, Moorhen, Teal, Shoveler, Gadwall, Water Rail, Wigeon, Codone, Garganey, Snipe, Whisk, Song Thrush, Cesena, Redwing Thrush, Gray Partridge, Pheasant and Quail); two additional hunting days suspended in the period 1 October - 30 November for migratory species.
The words of the commissioner
The TAR considered that the "although articulated reasons put forward by the Region in support of the opening of hunting before 1 October 2022 do not seem capable of overcoming the opinion expressed by ISPRA in relation to these species and that the arguments put forward by the Region in support the granting of additional days for the period October-November for migratory species does not appear fully convincing ".
Corazzari's conviction
"We are deeply disappointed by the order of the TAR which does not take into account in any way all the arguments brought to support the hunting calendar - comments the Councilor for Hunting of the Veneto Region - and which fully accepted the opinion of ISPRA. I remember that the national law provides that the opinion of Ispra is a consultative opinion and not a binding one. We will challenge this provision in every suitable forum, certain of the validity of our calendar ".
