Il Alpine area CN5, which is based in Borgo San Dalmazzo (province of Cuneo) and includes the communities of Valli Gesso, Vemenagna and Pesio, has organized a training course for selection hunting for wild ungulates. These are useful lessons for the hunting of chamois, roe deer, red deer, fallow deer and mouflons. In addition to the lessons that will deepen the theory, there will be an exercise in the laboratory, without forgetting the exam tests, both written and oral. The official start of the course has been set for the next one 5th April at 19:30 at the headquarters of the Piedmontese Alpine District.
Admission will be reserved only for those hunters who are in possession of hunting qualification pursuant to the legislation in force. There will be the notions related to ballistics, in particular the terminal one, the evaluations and verifications of the effects of shooting, optical instruments, weapons and ammunition.
Furthermore, as often happens for courses of this type, there will be various explanations regarding the treatment of culled animals, in order to have a good organization in the moment of the recovery and to estimate the abundance of these ungulates. The written test consists of twenty-five three-answer quizzes that will cover the topics covered in the various theoretical modules. The oral interview, on the other hand, will focus on the recognition of gender and age class from slides, films, videos and other prepared material. In classroom lessons a fifteen-minute break will be granted: the total number of hours will be equal to 64 and in addition to the teachers, some representatives of the Alpine District may be present.
