Hunting: Veneto, the law on hunting mobility approved by both majority and opposition, was announced by the president of the third permanent commission of the regional council, Sergio Berlato, in his own press release.
Hunting in Veneto. FIDC executives will soon be forced to tell the truth to their associates in Veneto. - reads the statement from Berlato - Pending that moment, it is useful to reiterate that the law on mobility hunting was recently approved by a large majority by the Veneto Regional Council with the votes, not only of all the majority directors (Lega, Lista Zaia, Forza Italia and Fratelli d'Italia-AN-Movimento per la Cultura Rurale) but also of numerous councilors of the opposition (Democratic Party, Tosi List, Veneto Civic List).
It should also be reiterated that laws similar to those approved in Veneto are in force in another fifteen Italian regions, without this having led to any imbalance either for the territory or for the fauna, nor for the environment. It will be curious to see how the national government will support the thesis of doubt of the constitutional legitimacy of the Venetian law with much more permissive laws in force in fifteen other Italian regions.
It is false to say that, as a result of this law, they will be able to arrive in Veneto hunters from all over Italy, since the law provides that this right can be used only by hunters who are in possession of the regional hunting card issued by the Veneto Region, therefore only and exclusively to hunters resident in Veneto.
It is true that the Government has decided to challenge the Venetian law on hunting mobility by raising issues of presumed constitutional illegitimacy at the Constitutional Court, but it is equally true that until at least until the moment the Constitutional Court is pronounced the Venetian law is in force and will applied in all its parts. There have been frequent cases in which the Court has rejected the objections raised by the Government, recognizing the full constitutional legitimacy of the laws approved by the regions.
It should also be remembered that the law on hunting mobility concerns the possibility of moving between the various ATCs of the Veneto but only and exclusively for hunting migratory game, without any possibility therefore to take sedentary game heads. It should be reiterated that mobility can only be used starting from the first Sunday in October, when the agricultural crops have all been fully harvested, thus avoiding any friction with the agricultural world. Some current soybean crops may remain on that date but hunting is still prohibited when there are crops in place and up to the date of their harvest.
There may be several reasons that push some hunting managers, who are part of some steering committees of some ATC, to say falsehoods that can generate a procured completely unjustified alarm.
Probably the interests at stake are so high, especially for those who work as a hunting manager, as to induce the Region to deal with them in the imminent phase of preparation of the new Regional Hunting Wildlife Plan.
