A few days after the opening of the Hunting Season, after the initial controversy, the Province of Viterbo and the Umbrian Provinces of Perugia and Terni sign the agreement for hunting mobility.
After the controversy over the lack of a hunting mobility agreement, which caused fear of the impossibility for Umbrian hunters to be able to practice migratory hunting in the most favorable territories of the nearby province of Viterbo, an agreement was finally signed between Tuscia and the Provinces of Perugia. and Terni; the agreement will now have to be approved by the individual provincial councils after the interregional agreement between the Lazio Region and the Umbria Region will be signed.
“The pact stipulated with colleagues from the Umbrian provinces - commented the provincial hunting councilor Franco Simeone - will make it possible to preserve and strengthen the excellent collaboration relationships with Terni and Perugia in full respect of the individual territories and the rights of hunters. An agreement that, as far as Tuscia is concerned, was previously discussed and shared with the hunting associations and with the presidents of the two Atc ”.
The agreement reached provides for the admission of all Umbrian hunters who have requested registration with the Viterbo Atc, as a hunting residence or according to Atc, within the limits set by the regional council resolution 450/92.
The same procedure will be applied in the Umbrian territory for Viterbo hunters who have requested registration in the Umbrian Atc. The Viterbo Atc will evaluate the possibility of accepting all excess requests, also calculating any places not occupied by Lazio hunters.
The salient point of the agreement concerns the methods of carrying out hunting activities for the migratory species. In particular, it was established that from 31nd to 2013st January XNUMX hunting in the territory of the province of Viterbo by Umbrian hunters will be allowed by temporary or fixed stalking, to be reached with the rifle disassembled or in custody and without the aid of the dog. to carry over. This request is expressly made by the local hunting associations and by the presidents of the Viterbo Atc.
“We have reconfirmed - Simeone points out - good neighborly relations with Umbrian friends, guaranteeing and protecting, through precise and shared rules, the rights of the hunters of the three provinces, avoiding unpleasant discussions or disputes of a parochial nature. An agreement that in the end satisfied everyone, first of all the Viterbo hunters who saw their requests accepted.
All this - concludes the commissioner - also thanks to the meetings and preparatory meetings convened by the Province, during which, with a great sense of responsibility and a collaborative spirit, we tried to reach the widest sharing of intentions in the area. The fact that this unity was also achieved with the Umbrian provinces further demonstrates the validity of the work carried out ”.
