A sentence that shocked
On August 3, 2023, a meeting between the Enalcaccia Associations, the Association for Rural Culture, the Association of Venetian Hunters, the Confederation of Italian hunting and Foundation for Rural Culture. The Associations that took part in the meeting assessed the situation which had arisen following sentence no. 148/2023 with which the Court ruled the constitutional illegitimacy of the new Regional Hunting Wildlife Plan 2022/2027 forcing the Veneto Region to hastily run for cover and approve a new PFVR, however with an administrative act and no longer with a legislative act.
Deep concern
The defendant Associations expressed their deep concern for the vulnerability of the new PFVR which, having been approved with an administrative deed, may be subject in all its parts to the foreseeable appeals by the animal-environmental organizations at the Veneto Regional Administrative Court which could suspend or cancel in some of its parts.
Few certainties for hunters
Enalcaccia, the Association for Rural Culture, the Association of Venetian Hunters, the Confederation of Italian Hunting Associations, the Foundation for Rural Culture have also expressed strong concern about the possible outcomes of the appeal filed against the 2023/2024 regional hunting calendar by some anti-hunting organizations at the Court Regional Administrative Office of Veneto. The Associations meeting in Marcesina today deem it unacceptable that the hunters of the Veneto region, after having already paid the onerous government and regional concession fees and the access fees to the Territorial Hunting Areas and the Alpine Districts, at the beginning of August still do not have the right to know with certainty how they will be able to go hunting during the next hunting season 2023/2024 (source: ACR).
