La Confederation of Tuscan Hunters has published an interesting press release in which we talk about Maremma and the Malpasso Ornithological Station, a reality made possible by the union between Territorial Areas of Hunting of Grosseto, the Province of Grosseto and the Migration Project Association. This center is located in a strategic position to say the least, to be precise along the typical migration routes of the autumn and spring period. The objective, shared by the CCT itself, will be to investigate the various types of monitoring and the movements of wild birds.
The property is located in Argentiera, not far from the Maremma Park: furthermore, there was full adhesion to the national ringing project of ISPRA, the so-called MonITRing. It will be operational all year round, with full coverage of migratory and reproductive and wintering periods. Other activities that will be exploited in this case will be those of the photographic report and acoustic recordings. It is an attempt to experiment in the field with new techniques that have to do with monitoring, using the most modern technologies.
La wildlife and hunting management of migratory birds he will not be able to ignore all this. The economic contribution of the association will allow to keep the center active for another time, involving many passionate hunters who provide their contribution in the data collection and in carrying out educational activities.
