The National Union of Alpine Zone Hunters (UNCZA - Sectoral Association of the Italian Federation of Hunting) in collaboration with the Provincial FIDC of Bergamo and the Circolo delle Prealpi Orobiche, organized a National Conference on Alpine Ibex. We will talk about the most up-to-date on this species and the inevitable future prospects. The appointment was set for Saturday 2 March 2019 at the “Benvenuto e Mario Cuminetti” Auditorium in Albino (in the province of Bergamo).
The planned interventions will be very numerous. The program includes the greeting of the authorities at 9 and then the presentation by Lorenzo Bertacchi, president of Federcaccia Bergamo. The first report will be that of Luca Pedrotti who will deepen the history of the alpine ibex and its presence. At 10 am, Giacomo Moroni and his team will fly intervention focused on animals in the Bergamo Orobie.
It will continue at 10:30 with the examples of health management by Luca Rossi, while at 11 Jessica Franceschina will focus attention on the current management situation of the ibex and the prospects for the next few years. The conclusions, expected at 11:30, will be entrusted to Sandro Flaim. In a nutshell, the event is full of ideas and reflections on a species of which we culpably tend to talk too little.
