"Wild boars continue to ravage our countryside, a problem that became acute during the lockdown period: this is why I presented an amendment to extend the selection hunt for wild boar only to the whole year, but I withdrew it due to the commitment of councilor Zannier to work together with an organic law on the matter". This was stated by the regional councilor Mara Piccin (Forza Italy) who adds: “The Lombardy region has already taken steps, on May 26, to modify in the same way the law corresponding to that of Friuli Venezia Giulia which governs the exercise of selection hunting for particular wild fauna samples, which in our region allows selective hunting of wild boar only from May 15th to January 15th.
We note the urgency of extending the hunt to the whole year to put a stop to the increasingly marked proliferation of wild boars: by now there are no count of appeals from farmers damaged this year, especially in the lockdown period dictated by thecoronavirus emergency, when the movement of these animals in the territory has become even more free ". "I withdrew the amendment - points out the force worker - accepting the observations of the commissioner and the commitment to drafting a regional hunting rule covering the proposed measure and others that update the regulatory framework of the sector. We must act quickly, starting immediately to work to bring the law to the Chamber by the end of the year ”.
Piccin was also the first signatory of the national law proposal 9, approved by a large majority by regional council Fvg and sent to Parliament with the aim of amending Article 19 of the 1992 Framework Law, always intending to prevent damage caused by wildlife, in particular by wild boars, by ensuring that hunters who are members of the game reserves can also be used in the implementation of the abatement plans. "Proposal - concludes the councilor - so far remained in the Roman drawers, despite the alarms launched throughout Italy: the Giallorossi government thus demonstrates that it is not interested in a problem that grips the agricultural sector, but which also concerns the safety of roads and citizens" (Trieste All News).
