Paul Viezzi, regional president of the Federcaccia of Friuli Venezia Giulia, commented on the early closure of the woodcock hunting decided by the Department of Hunting, according to which this hunting withdrawal must end on January 20. According to Viezzi, the provision is illegitimate for various reasons, including the appeal to the emergency decree, which must be based on exceptional situations, to be evaluated year by year.
Incidentally, the issue was resolved in favor of hunters by many Regional Administrative Courts, consequently the choice of councilor Paolo Panontin was a real bolt from the blue. Federcaccia stigmatized the indication of the obligation to disclose the decree without any mention of the rules on which this imposition would depend. The association's intention is to challenge the decree. But what has the Region decided specifically?
To close the woodcock hunt early was mentioned Article 8 of Regional Law number 24 of 17 July 1996. This is ("Regulations on huntable species and periods of hunting activity and further amending and supplementary regulations on hunting and professional fishing"): Article 8 refers to the special and exceptional circumstances that may order the suspension of the hunting activity or its diveto, to be precise after hearing the Wildlife Hunting Committee and the Regional Wildlife Institute.
