Italcaccia Garfagnana, the Italian Beccacciai Association, FANBPO and the Woodcock Club they have prepared a training course for woodcock monitors to be held on Saturday August 5th, 2017 at the Village Il Ciocco “Barga”, in the province of Lucca. The qualification will serve to train experienced hunters and to whom to entrust research and monitoring tasks of the species in the periods and in the suitable areas that have been specifically designated by the The Tuscan Regional Authority.
The program of the day will be characterized by the registration of the participants and the start of the course at 9:30. We will talk about the biology, ethology, phenology of migration before the lunch break. Work will resume at 15 pm, until the end of 19 pm: the themes of the monitoring, laboratory, age and sex recognition and wing reading. The final test will enable the monitors: the teacher chosen for the course is Paolo Pennacchini, president of FANBPO. The number of registrations is limited and there will be time until the next one 31th July to complete the various procedures.
