Vittorino Facciolla and Micaela Fanelli, regional councilors of the Democratic Party in Molise, have filed a proposal to change the hunting law, an intervention that would allow increase activity related to wild boars. Ungulates represent a problem of no small importance in this region (as in many other parts of Italy on the other hand) and the modification could be very useful.
The motion discussed in the courtroom provides for the addition of two new paragraphs to thearticle 27 of the regional law on hunting. This is the article that explores the huntable species and hunting periods. Law 19 of 1993 should thus offer an interesting novelty. Molise hunters could take advantage of fifteen days as regards the selection hunting of wild animals in addition to those that are normally provided for by hunting calendar 2018-2019.
In addition, the owners of the land and funds would have the authorization to take wild boars twelve months a year in case of ascertainment of damage to agricultural crops. Another goal to be achieved with these 15 more days is that, not secondary, of the protection of people and their safety. The proposed change has been addressed to the Molise Regional Council and there should be some important updates in the coming weeks.
