Final report
Organized by the Italian Hunting Federation together with the Sicilian Region and the Applied Zoology Laboratory of the University of Palermo, the conference "Towards sustainable hunting of the Italic hare (Lepus corsicanus) in Sicily: good practices and monitoring actions. Presentation of the Final Report of the Project – Period 2017-2022”. After greetings from Dr. Fulvio Bellomo and Dr. Roberta Paci, Department of Rural and Territory Development of the Sicilian Region; of the regional President of Federcaccia Sicilia Giuseppe La Russa and Doctor Francesco Riga, ISPRA Executive Technologist, the works will open.
The added value of the project
Moderated by Dr. Michele Sorrenti, Scientific Coordinator of the FIdC Studies and Research Office, Professor Mario Lo Valvo of the University of Palermo will intervene with their contributions to illustrate the "'Lepre italica' project: objectives, results and prospects"; the wildlife technician Valter Trocchi of the Federcaccia Studies and Research Office; the Eng. Giuseppe Giannini, XValue Srl and Doctor Daniel Tramontana, FIdC Studies and Research Office. After a short break, work will resume, focusing on the added value of the Project: health monitoring and new knowledge. Dr. Tiziana Trogu and Dr. Elisa Rossini of IZSLER will speak on the topic; Prof. Fabio Macchioni of the University of Pisa and Dr. Giorgia Romeo, Tuscany Region Official.
The conclusion of the morning of study
After a space for speeches, the National President of the Italian Hunting Federation will conclude the morning of study. The speech is expected from Sen. Claudio Barbaro, Undersecretary of State at the Ministry of the Environment and Energy Security, and Dr. Maria Siclari, Director General of ISPRA (source: Federcaccia).
