The Department of Agriculture, Rural and Environmental Development of the Puglia region has issued a managerial act with which the hunt in all the regional territory from tomorrow, Friday January 6 2017, Up to Sunday January 8. The three-day block with regard to hunting was motivated by the Sustainable Management and Protection of Forest and Natural Resources Section with bad weather conditions they will be recorded in the next few hours.
For all of Central and Southern Italy there is an important weather alert due to the frost from Russia. At an altitude of 1400 meters it will reach -14 degrees, the lowest temperature ever in decades. On two thirds of the Apulian territory, then, there will be heavy snowfall with accumulations of more than 50-60 centimeters, especially in inland areas.
The area most at risk will be that of central Bari, from Bari to Acquaviva and passing through Adelfia. As specified by the Region, the aim of the suspension is to ensure the safeguarding of huntable fauna, especially the woodcock but not only. In December 2014, Puglia was harshly accused by trade associations precisely for not having adopted such a provision. The act must now be ratified by the Regional Council.
