The Association for Rural Culture (ACR) has once again raised an alarm that must never be overlooked: "Flocks of starlings and the raid on olives . In Puglia, flocks of starlings are raiding olives: each can eat up to 20 grams of olives a day ! Furthermore, the starlings are destroying the olive harvest areas and, as they pass , leaving behind such quantities of excrement on the vegetables that the produce is unsellable on the market.
We at the Association for Rural Culture stand with all these olive growers forced to deal with this unprecedented emergency. The relevant authorities must intervene to ensure production is not further compromised.
