The "La Conca" farmhouse in Sansepolcro (province of Arezzo) will host the archery hunting course organized by National Survival Sector CSEN (National Educational Sports Center) from 12 to 14 February next. This is an opportunity conceived in collaboration with Romagna Adventure, an amateur sports association from Romagna. This refresher course intended for instructors of the CSEN Survival Sector is very particular and is not so frequent and it is more typical of foreign countries. The internship will last three days and will be valid as a training credit. There are usually three types of bows that are used in hunting.
The first is the so-called Longbow: it is very light (which means that the vibrations can be greater) and has a reduced front section. The second type is known as "Recurve bow": one of the main characteristics is that of harmony from an aesthetic point of view, with better absorption of vibrations and a discreet silence. The third and final hunting bow is the Compound, designed in the sixties to speed up the shot and appreciated for its stability during execution.
Hunting with the bow, as well as with the other means provided by law such as the rifle and the hawk, requires the possession of a license. The CSEN Survival Sector was conceived and designed by Joseph Fasulo based on his experiences gained during the nineties. The method is that of "learning by doing", teaching that is based on direct and concrete practice: the goal of the national survival school is essentially that of to spread the practice of Survival as much as possible in our country, allowing enthusiasts to experience the discipline and get involved.
In the case of the archery hunting course in Sansepolcro, there will be hunting, archery and tree-stand hunts. Furthermore, at the end of the three-day program, a certificate of participation will be issued; the selecontrollers will instead be issued the license to hunt with the bow in the places where it is allowed. The teacher will be Daniel Rosini, one of the leading manufacturers of bows and components for archery.
What does the course program specifically envisage? Participants will delve into responsibilities, sense of capture and legislation, as well as the most important equipment (bows, arrows and blades). There will be explanations on accessories, clothing and camouflage, without forgetting scouting, mapping and management of ungulates. Finally, there will be some important hints to tracking, prey recovery and archery situations that must be avoided.
