It took place yesterday at European Parliament of Brussels the event entitled "Dialogue on the future of European countryside: sustainable use of land, hunting and nature conservation", jointly organized by FACE (federation of associations of European hunters) and by ELO (European association of landowners). On the occasion, exponents of the rural world from all over Europe met with dozens of European parliamentarians, laying the foundations for reconstitution also in this legislature of the parliamentary intergroup "Biodiversity, hunting and countryside".
The event was also attended by the Head delegation of the Brothers of Italy to the European Parliament Carlo Fidanza, who spent a long time with representatives of the Italian hunting world. “The rural world and the hunting world must find answers in the next five years of the European mandate. There is a lot of talk about sustainability e the principle that it is precisely the balance between the environment and man must be reaffirmed with its traditional activities is the premise for true sustainability.
The rest is an ideology that ends up damaging the very environment it would like to defend, ”says Fidanza. “It is very important that the Intergroup be reformed”, he concludes Barbara Mazzali, regional councilor of the Brothers of Italy in Lombardy. “Hunting is essential to protect the biodiversity and characteristics of our territory. The absence or scarcity of predators, for example, it would completely revolutionize the fauna, while selective regulation helps the environment to maintain its balance ”.
