Eighth edition
The tradition is renewed in the Zrc of Castel San Giovanni and Sarmato (Pc), which hosted the annual Memorial Nino Fontana, a race for hounds on hares in memory of the unforgettable friend. This 8th edition, organized as always by the Castel San Giovanni Section, with the collaboration of Sips, saw the performances of 7 groups of hounds.
A tight comparison
Over the course of the morning, experienced bloodhounds and promising youngsters met in a series of actions that enlivened the vast area dedicated to the race on the banks of the Po for over 6 hours, giving great emotions to handlers, judges and spectators who thus being able to witness the different attitudes of the assistants in the different competition situations, favored in their uniqueness also by the great variety of terrains.
The best score
With the best score, the 8th edition of the Memorial Nino Fontana was awarded to his friend the bloodhound Alessio Risoli, with a formidable pair of Italian bloodhounds. Of course there was the usual and awaited convivial moment at the end of the day which, like every year, was an opportunity to regain strength, to award prizes, but above all to underline the commemorative nature of the event.
A day to remember
The success of the event is mainly due to the numerous and enthusiastic participants who, as always, put their passion and experience into play, but also to the commitment and tenacity of the young (and less young) of the Board of Directors of the Section of Castel San Giovanni who, despite the difficulties associated first with the pandemic and then with the structural collapse of the headquarters (not yet resolved), still managed to keep their promises and give everyone a day to remember. See you next year with the 9th edition! (source: FIDC).
