As announced at the beginning of last week, yesterday, in the splendid scenery of the Cerruglio fortress, in the town of Montecarlo in the Province of Lucca, the first took place singing competition of birds of call of the territory. Being the first event, the success of the event was not taken for granted, and instead it was a beautiful "new beginning", for the restart of the bird fairs united in the FATFO. In addition to the singing competition, the market in piazza Garibaldi, where various stands dedicated to migration and other sector products animated the day, with the presence of many visitors.
The work done by the organizing committee was commendable, assisted by Matteo and Massimo Minghi, helped by the collaboration of the hunting associations, ANUU first and foremost and FIDC members of the CCT, from the pro loco, from the local Misericordia and from the Municipality, which gave the patronage. A work carried out with a lot of commitment and passion not common to all, which in the end was rewarded with the full success of the event. A special thanks goes to the spouses Rosanna Pardocchi and Valter Menchini, which have made available for the logistics of the singing competition, the areas located within the walls of the stupendous fortress.
The singing competition began at the first light of dawn with a good presence of singers, belonging to the various species. After a careful evaluation, made by an expert jury, the winners were announced. The awards took place in the late morning on a stage of honor, in the presence of the municipal and regional institutions with the mayor Federico Carrara, the councilors, the regional councilor Vittorio Fantozzi (former mayor of the town), together with the whole organizing committee and the aforementioned collaborators, the hunting associations ANUU and FIDC and the Confederation of Tuscan Hunters, with their representatives. The awards were presented by the President of FATFO Valeriano Ciampi and his regional secretary Antonio Menga, who, with thrift and professionalism, they followed the whole race and compiled the final rankings.
The first place in the combined (Bottaccio thrush, redwing and blackbird) was awarded to Mr. Tiripelli Rossano to whom it was delivered a crystal trophy offered by the Confederation of Tuscan Hunters, while the first prize for the song thrush was won by Mr. Cortesi Massimo, who was awarded a crystal trophy offered by the association itself by the ANUU migratory regional councilor Delfo Tintori. The Mayor at the end of the awards highlighted in his speech the importance of the hunting culture in the territory, underlining the role that it, together with its practitioners, plays in safeguarding the countryside and nature.
