La hunting season of 2015 the US state of New York will surely be remembered for a long time: as reported by the local portal syracuse.com, in fact, it was one of the safest in the history of this American area, since it was not registered no deaths related to the shooting of the hunters. To find such a balance in the past it is necessary to go back to the fifties of the last century, therefore over six decades ago. We can speak, without fear of exaggerating, of a more unique than rare event, as can be seen from the data made public by the Department of Environmental Conservation state (the department that deals with environmental protection).
New York State has an average of 1,8 deaths a year as regards the hunting seasons, at least according to what has happened in the last five years. However, it should be emphasized how this same number has gradually decreased from the XNUMXs to the XNUMXs: in forty years we have gone from 137 deaths to 38 (always counted over twelve months). The Department also said that in 2015 the state registered 23 hunting accidents, the third lowest total ever: these are 10 self-inflicted accidents and 13 involving two people if you want to be even more precise.
Commissioner Basil Seggos in this case it accredited about 3 thousand volunteers to guarantee hunting safety, organizing important courses to avoid the most common and dangerous accidents. Hunting is very popular in New York State: according to the most recent statistics, the hunters of the place are 700mila, but 50 active non-residents have also been registered in this part of the United States. The hunting season is characterized by the killing of deer (even with the bow), brown bears, wild turkeys, ducks, without forgetting the lynxes and coyotes.
Every single season, regardless of the animal hunted, requires the possession of the license, which remains in force from 1st September to 31st August of each year. There are special programs for Junior Hunters (from 12 to 15 years) and the so-called Junior Trappers, that is to say children under the age of 16: turkeys, pheasants and water birds are the most suitable for hunting by young people. The hunting license is not compulsory, among others, for residents who are landowners and who are engaged in the cultivation and occupation of their area, a sort of protection for their agricultural activity.
