The “Strada” hunters sections of Capannoli, Calcinaia and Bientina of the Italian Federation of Hunting (they are located in the province of Pisa) organized the twenty-third edition of the Valdera Trophy: it is two days of dog races on pheasant which will have the main purpose of restocking. As specified by the organizers, also this year there will be two trophies up for grabs, one destined for pointing breeds and one to the hunting breeds.
Going into more detail of the program, the tests will take place on three occasions: on 18 and 19 February it will be the turn of Capannoli, more precisely the Sant'Andrea dog training area, then on 25 and 26 February we will move to Calcinaia, at the Podere Cantone training area. Finally, the races will arrive in Bientina on 4 and 5 March, at the poacher training area. For each single test, prizes will be awarded to the first three classified of the category: for what concerns the category "Hunters Stinging Breeds", the prizes will instead go to the first six.
The categories are so many: we are talking about "Professionals", "English Garisti", "Continental Garisti", "Hunters Staging Breeds", "Young Stinging Breeds", "Free Search", "Stinging Breed Hunters" e "Young Breeds for Search". To become part of the Young people, you must be within 24 months of age from the date of the first competition, all proven by the certificate of the Italian National Dog Association.
