The interventions for the transfer of roe deer settled in the area between the San Jacopo hospital and the A11 motorway exit, in the Pistoiese. The operations, arranged by the Region and planned in the coordination table held at the Prefecture of Pistoia, involve the capture of animals with nets and their transfer to non-hunting state-owned areas on the Pistoia mountains. The activities are scheduled for the morning of 8 and 15 March from 6,30 to 9,00 and will complete the interventions started in November 2019, which have so far allowed the transfer of 17 animals to areas with low anthropization.
The catches will take place below the operational coordination of the provincial police of Pistoia and with the organizational support of the company specialized in wildlife management DREAM Italia, specifically appointed by the Region; the operations will also be attended by technical personnel from the Region and ATC Pistoia 11, the Municipality of Pistoia will guarantee logistical support for the transfer of animals and the supervision of the roads on the connection adjacent to the area with a patrol of the Municipal Police.
There are no measures on the motorway roads, along which the safety fence has been adapted. ANAS and Autostrade will ensure the preparation of appropriate signs also with variable message. Citizens are invited to use all permitted caution when circulating on the road and motorway sections adjacent to the affected area.
