A Pollina, in the province of Palermo, there are really a few days to go until the third edition of the Wild Boar Festival, an appointment that is now consolidating in this part of Sicily. The event will take place on the weekend of Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 January 2017 with a series of interesting events. The festival serves to make people understand how the wild boars are not just a threat for the territory, but also a resource.
The organization was managed by the Municipality of Pollina and by the local circle of hunters, in collaboration with the Maurolì Cooperative and the young people of the National Civil Service. Everything will take place in the alleys and squares of the village and there will be stands, tastings and guided tours. Saturday 21 at 15 will officially start the festival with the meeting and departure for the naturalistic excursion in the "Serra Daino" district.
At 18 pm, then, it will be the turn of the culinary demonstration that will allow you to discover how to best make the best dishes based on wild boar meat. At 21:30 pm instead a smooth evening is scheduled. On Sunday 22nd there will be a treasure hunt and guided tours in the main places of Pollina. At 13 pm the lunch tasting will be open: the menu includes pasta with wild boar sauce, wild boar sausage and wild boar with sauce, plus a glass of wine.
