The Sfattoria of the Last
"On October 16, 2020, a family of wild boars was killed, a mother with her young, which have become for us the symbol of a battle. Wild boars in Rome must be protected; to date they are caught in trap cages, moved and then shot down. We want to protect them, we want to make them known as a species, and we want people to stop being baselessly afraid of them". These are the words used by the Sfattoria degli Ultimi, a Roman illegal refuge that has risen to the headlines for some time.
The decision of the TAR
After months of disputes, appeals, positions taken by the various animal welfare associations, the pigs of the Sfattoria have not been killed and can continue their lives in this structure on the outskirts of the capital. The Lazio regional administrative court has in fact accepted the appeal presented by the managers.
An incredible commemoration
Now we have even reached the ridiculous, that is a commemoration complete with emotion and lighted candles to remember the ungulates killed exactly two years ago in a playground in the Aurelio district.
