The blitz of farmers, ranchers and citizens arrived today May 27 in Rome from different regions against the invasion of wild boars, to ask to stop a calamity that is spreading the swine fever, destroys crops, attacks animals and causes road accidents with deaths and injuries. In piazza Ss Apostoli the farmers also brought the typical products Made in Italy which risk disappearing due to swine fever which affects pigs but not humans. The result is that 62% of Italians are afraid of it and almost half (48%) would not take a home in an area infested with wild boars. When asked who should solve the problem, more than half of Italians (53%) think that it is up to the Regions, while for 25% it is the task of the Government and 22% is up to the Municipalities.
