Peter Taddeini, secretary of the management committee of ZRC "Collebrunacchi San Miniato" (in the province of Pisa) and secretary of the local Federcaccia, spoke of a very particular situation that is concerning precisely this Restocking and Capture Area. The hunting associations have in fact made known the decision to suspend the wild boar hunting trips in Collebrunacchi to protect the hunters themselves.
These are people who voluntarily lend their work to prevent damage to agricultural crops and also to wildlife, without forgetting the safety of citizens. The decision was very painful. The containment of the ungulates was interrupted, for now without a clear explanation, by the Provincial Hunting Police, so much so that two hunters were fined.
According to the committee, all directives have been respected and there were no problems with public safety. The suspension of the serve caused problems a three dogs who were on the trail of the wild boars and who were seriously injured. As specified by Taddeini, the Tuscany Region has ordered the killing throughout the territory, in particular in the repopulation areas.
Le samminiatiesi hunting associations they believe they have been heavily damaged, despite the cooperation provided so far. The "repression", on the contrary, appeared unmotivated and sudden. Federcaccia and the Regional Association of Tuscan Hunters invited the institutions to clarify: Taddeini reiterated that it is not a question of hunting, but of operations of public utility.
