Charming villages
Great success for the Excellence Test for Spaniel type “B” CAC, organized by the FIDC Provincial Section of Siena in collaboration with the Gruppo Cinofilo Senese and the Springer Spaniel Club of Italy. The event took place on February 8, 2025 in the splendid Repopulation and Capture Area “I Poggi”, an area of approximately 1.300 hectares nestled between the charming villages of Torrita di Siena and Montefollonico.
The right territory
This territory, characterized by large open areas with meadows and uncultivated land, heather, broom, junipers and woods typical of the Sienese hills, proved to be ideal for the competition. The president of ATC 8 Siena Sud and coordinator of all the ATCs in Tuscany, Franco Cassioli, emphasized the excellent management of the Management Committee and the FIDC-UCT Section of Torrita di Siena, highlighting their daily commitment to the protection of wild fauna, maintenance of the territory and the capture operations of hares and pheasants.
Awards and cuisine
The awards ceremony took place at the restaurant “Da Renato”, where participants were able to enjoy the renowned Tuscan cuisine. The event was officiated by Giuseppe Terzini, organizer of the trial and head of Cinofilia Spaniel, who brought greetings from the provincial President Claudio Pucci. Heartfelt thanks go to the FIDC-UCT of Siena, to the Springer Spaniel Club of Italy, to the competitors – thirty dogs in the competition – and to the judges and chaperones Luongo, Carloni, Maccioni, Marchetti, Faleri, Pastonchi and Giardiello, whose contribution was crucial to the success of the event.
