As announced by the provincial section of Vicenza of Italian Federation of Hunting, starting from tomorrow, Tuesday 4 October 2016, the monitoring of the association will resume together with the Provincial Police. It is one of the integral parts of the project relating to the pre-alpine passes which was promoted by the Veneto Region and theMigratory Birdlife Office. Going into more detail, mainly finches and brambles will be controlled, two species for which hunting was prohibited by way of derogation.
Every Tuesday and Friday the volunteers (trained through a special program) will go to the Mesole and Ristele passes, which are located between the municipalities of Recoaro Terme and Crespadoro. These are the main migratory routes of the region and therefore allow you to spot and record birds perfectly during reproduction. The results will be very important from a scientific point of view and they will also try to approach people who have never had the opportunity to approach these initiatives.
As explained by Emiliano Galvanetto, number one of Federcaccia Vicenza, the monitoring we are talking about started in 2013 and it is essential to understand the health status of brambles and finches. Furthermore, the invitation of the representatives of theISPRA (Higher Institute for Environmental Protection and Research), in the hope that the project will also be useful for them.
