Data relating to inscriptions of hunters in the province of Massa-Carrara they sported an interesting increase in women as regards the 2018-2019 season. The two days of the pre-opening in Tuscany were an opportunity to take stock of the total number of double-goals present and the increase in huntresses could not fail to be noticed. As pointed out by the local Federcaccia, these are mainly the daughters of other hunters, but not only.
Out of a total of 3500 members there are about a hundred women, a number that until now had never been reached. The trend is not the same throughout the Tuscan territory, in particular in Maremma where hunters turn out to be in decline. The two days are giving the opportunity to withdraw turtle doves, wood pigeons, blackbirds, corvids, starlings, crows, magpies and jays.
Wild boars are highly coveted, however, but not yet huntable. In Massa-Carrara there are about 40 teams, with at least 30 hunters for each of them. The same goes for roe deer, with a number of hunters specialized in hunting between 400 and 500. Deer and mouflons complete this picture, all ungulates that have now become real pests for agriculture.
