La Court of Cassation has intervened in recent days to explain a not insignificant detail concerning the possession of weapons in Italy. The judges of Piazza Cavour, in fact, rejected the appeal presented by a man who had decided to modify his carbine, increasing its power. We are talking about a compressed air rifle and in this case it had come up to 21,7 joule following the change made by the owner.
In short, the same power had become three times higher, given that the one provided for by the legislation currently in force, i.e. 7,5 joules. According to what was established by Palazzaccio, increasing the power of a freely sold weapon is absolutely not recommended, as there is a risk of having a weapon that is in fact clandestine.
Furthermore, certainly not a secondary detail in this discussion, it is not important that the weapon was bought in an armory or that the power is relative, the clandestinity remains indelible with the increase of joules.
