Henry Rizzi, national secretary of European Animalist Party, was sentenced to pay 34 thousand euros to the family of Diego Moltrer, president of the Regional Council of Trentino Alto Adige, struck by a heart attack during a hunting trip in 2014. After learning the sad news Rizzi commented on the death with a shocking sentence on Facebook ("Infamous, now you know what it means to die ..."), arousing great indignation.
Moltrer's family members filed a complaint and it is not the first sentence to which the animal rights leader is subjected. In the first instance it had even been decided to inflict two months' imprisonment on him, then the appeal sentence had established the figures to be paid to the wife of the former president, to the three children, to the elderly mother and to the sister. Rizzi has never backed down for this shameful behavior: in total he will have to pay 70 thousand euros, including court costs.
The secretary of the PAE announced that he wanted to appeal to the Supreme Court, confirming that he does not regret the words written on social networks. Among other things, in 2016 Rizzi had reacted very badly to the first criminal conviction decree, accusing journalists of having published the false and never having received any notification from the Court. It seems difficult that i judges of Piazza Cavour can change the verdict, the defendant has already achieved a lot by avoiding imprisonment.
