The activities to be carried out
This is a market survey aimed at directly awarding the service of drafting the feasibility study for the eradication of wild boars and mouflons from the Island of Elba. The activities to be carried out are related to the preparation of a feasibility study for the eradication of the two species of wild ungulates, mouflon and wild boar, from the territory of the Island of Elba. The contractor therefore analyzes all the variables, eco-ethological, social, economic, technical, juridical-regulatory, capable of influencing the achievement of the envisaged overall management objective.
What will be explored
The investigation will have to investigate the use of the different habitats and urbanized/agricultural areas, the sampling techniques, the management of the animals collected, the subjects participating in the sampling phases, the sampling effort, the timing, the monitoring in progress of work and at the end of the eradication action; tests the local social and economic context, the perception of the problem among the population; analyzes the national and European regulatory context that regulates the management interventions of the two species; highlights the governance processes underlying the conduct of interventions; carries out an estimate of the total cost of the eradication intervention if deemed possible in a technical, social and legal sense.
