New company policy
ITA Airways, the national airline of our country born from the ashes of Alitalia, has decided to change its corporate policy with a decision that has to do with hunting trophies. The topic is more current than ever and we should therefore not be surprised if the carrier has introduced a ban on transporting these trophies on board its aircraft for a very specific reason.
Awareness campaign
The company has in fact joined the campaign launched by the non-profit organization HSI (an acronym that identifies the Humane Society International) which deals with animal protection, consequently it intends to protect the conservation of wildlife and protect biodiversity.
The words of ITA Airways
Giovanna Di Vito, Chief Program Office of ITA Airways, explained the new ban as follows: “Our staunch support for the Humane Society International/Europe campaign to stop imports of hunting trophies in Italy and Europe reflects ITA Airways' constant commitment to the planet, our country and the communities. The Company's new policy, which formalizes the ban on the transport of hunting trophies on its flights, is a concrete action, our contribution to the protection of wildlife and the promotion of this protection. In fact, we believe that companies have a fundamental role in supporting and disseminating ethical practices that represent effective progress towards a more responsible and sustainable future."
