The Mountain Ascent series, in Italian “mountain climb”, represents the top of Kimber hunting rifles for quality and effectiveness, but above all for its lightness. The one in .308 caliber with a 560 mm long barrel, presented by Paganini at EOS '25, weighs just 2.290 grams! The stock is in reinforced composite and the action has been lightened. Which is the classic Kimber, in three different versions (84M, 84L and 8400 magnum) for the calibers of the line which are 6,5 Creedmoor, .308 Winchester, .30-06 Springfield, .280 Ackley imp, .300 Winchester mag. All very light rifles, suitable for prolonged carry, created for selective hunting in the mountains, extremely precise for when there is only one shot available.
Simplicity, design and precision Kimber
The Kimber 84M action is stainless steel with a Kim Pro II black finish. Lightened, of course, especially with regard to the two-lug, fluted bolt with helical grooves and skeletonized handle. The extractor is of the Mauser type and the 3-position safety is of the Winchester Model 70 type.
The stainless steel barrel with Match grade chamber and black exterior finish still Kim Pro II. It has a tapered and lightened “fluted” profile for hunting and is equipped with a muzzle brake with radial holes. The trigger group is adjustable, factory set at 1.500 grams and offers a clean and precise trigger feel, helping to improve shooting accuracy. The rifle has a capacity of 4 shots in the fixed magazine.

Three barrel lengths are available: 560, 610 and 660 mm, which correspond to overall lengths from 1.050 to 1.180 mm, with weights from 2.290 to 2.550 grams.
The Obskura camouflage pattern
The Obskura Skyfall camouflage pattern by Kryptek makes the rifle ideal for mountain hunting of white-tailed deer, according to Kryptek itself, blending in perfectly with the surrounding environment. The Kryptek Skyfall offers the “ultimate” distortion of the silhouette in close contact situations. This color can also be used in our latitudes, in the mountains, especially for chamois hunting. You can also opt for the Caza camouflage pattern by Pnuma which uses colors that imitate the sky peeking out between the branches of the trees and the lichens on the trunks to create the best possible level of adaptability in various situations.

The buttplate is the famous Pachmayr Decelerator: in combination with the muzzle brake it makes the lightweight rifle more controllable, which is obviously also intended to be equipped with a mount and scope.

The Mountain Ascent Skyfall is one of the lightest rifles on the market in its category. And lightness remains a key advantage for mountain hunting, where every gram counts. The high-quality materials and robust design ensure high reliability even in difficult environmental conditions. It is a high-end rifle that represents the ideal investment for hunters looking for lightness, precision and reliability. It costs 4.400 euros.
